About this project

Pitch

Builders' Echo is a two-sided marketplace where companies run real, paid hiring contests and developers prove skill through blind-judged, GitHub-backed submissions — built to work for both sides of the table, not just one. For companies: post a contest with the Contest Creation Wizard, fund a real prize pool escrowed via Stripe Connect, and review submissions through the Company Dashboard. Blind Judging strips name, photo, school, and LinkedIn before anyone scores the work, so you evaluate the code first and the candidate second. Every submission also gets a 0–100 Originality Score (AST-level code comparison + semantic embedding similarity across the whole contest) — AI tools are allowed, copying isn't. Top performers get fast-tracked straight to interviews, and pgvector-backed talent discovery lets you find builders by demonstrated work instead of resume keywords. You see real, ranked output before you schedule a single interview. For builders: it's free to compete. Submit real work via GitHub, get ranked on a public leaderboard, and get paid from a real, escrowed prize pool — not "we'll consider you for the role." Every contest builds your Skill Passport: verified badges, credential pages, and a public profile that accumulates durable proof-of-work across contests, whether or not you win a specific one. No degree line, no warm intro, no ATS keyword filter standing between you and getting seen — the work is what gets judged. That's the mechanism behind democratizing hiring: neither side has to trust the other's paperwork, because both sides are looking at the same evidence. Starter contests are $299 (free for the first 10 companies during early access, no credit card). Pro is custom, founder-led pricing for teams that want promoted distribution and priority placement.

Why we're launching this

From the team
May hiring be democratized as it should be. I built Builders Echo because hiring still runs on resumes while people who can ship get filtered out. Companies need proof of work. Builders need a fair shot—not another unpaid take-home that vanishes. Companies fund real contests. Builders submit GitHub-backed work. Blind judging puts the code first. Launching now because it’s ready for real contests, I would love you to give it a try. Founder sponsored contests coming soon
