FreshThread

FreshThread is a Windows companion for people who work in long Codex sessions. It makes session pressure, context load, and compactions visible while you work. When a task becomes difficult to continue, FreshThread helps carry your goal, progress, and next steps into a clean new Codex task - so you can start fresh without starting over. It solves a problem I kept running into myself: long Codex sessions can slowly get worse. After enough compactions, the model may start forgetting decisions, repeating work, or losing track of constraints, wasting time and tokens. The tricky part is that you don’t always notice it right away. You just start feeling the session getting heavier.
