About this project

Pitch

Quitting is not a calendar problem. It’s a 4 p.m. problem. A “just one” problem. A moment when the streak looks fragile and your brain wants the old ritual back. iQ is a quit-smoking companion for iPhone that keeps progress, craving help, and personal goals in one place — with no account and no cloud login. Your data stays on the device. It’s for people who are done with smoking (or trying to be) and don’t want another social app, coach funnel, or lecture. Open it, see how far you’ve come, and have something to do when a craving hits. When you quit, iQ starts a smoke-free clock. You see time clean, cigarettes skipped, and money saved from the habit you entered. Home Screen widgets and an Apple Watch companion keep that number close without opening the app every hour. When an urge shows up, SOS is the point of the product. Rate the craving, name the trigger, and pick a short action — breathe, walk, wait it out. The goal is not a speech. It’s getting through the next few minutes without lighting up. Progress is built from small proof, not guilt: • badges for time without cigarettes and for the work you actually did • optional daily missions for a bit of XP • reward goals you fund with estimated savings, so “I quit” turns into something you can buy or do • a free recovery timeline with milestones, so the quiet days still feel like they count Core tools stay free: the timer, SOS, recovery timeline, badges, and missions. Premium adds fuller craving history, longer-term insights, weekly reflections, and more room for goals if you want the extra depth later. iQ is a self-management tool, not medical advice and not a clinic. It will not quit for you. It will make the next smoke-free day easier to see, and the next craving easier to handle. Built as a solo indie app. If you’re trying to quit, I hope it helps.

Why we're launching this

From the team
I smoked my first cigarette at 13. Tried to quit maybe a hundred times. Lost count. Willpower wasn’t the missing piece. I needed a place that quietly showed what I was getting back — hours, money, the ones I didn’t light — without resetting me when I slipped. So I built iQ. Solo. After the day job. Flip clock for smoke-free time. SOS when a craving hits. If you’re quitting, you’re not late and you’re not broken.
