About this project

Pitch

Cards AI is a sports card scanner that fixes the one thing every other scanner gets wrong: trust. Most card apps hand you a price and ask you to believe it. The problem is they often blend in asking prices, so the number runs high and you have no way to check it. Cards AI takes the opposite approach. Scan any card and it identifies the exact card, pulls real recent eBay sold listings, and shows you the actual comps behind the number so you can verify the value yourself in seconds. It also includes AI condition grading. Point your camera at a card and it estimates centering, corners, edges, and surface, so you can pre-screen a card before paying to submit it for professional grading. Useful right now with grading backlogs as bad as they are. How it's built: React Native and Expo on the front end, Supabase for auth, database, and edge functions, Gemini for multimodal card identification, and live marketplace data for pricing. Subscriptions run through RevenueCat. Built solo. Who it's for: sports card and TCG collectors who are tired of guessing what their cards are worth and want to see the proof, not just a number. Built solo in New Jersey. iOS now, Android coming.

Why we're launching this

From the team
I've collected sports cards for 20 years, and every scanner app I tried gave me a price with no way to check it. Half the time it was wrong, usually too high. So I built the app I wanted: scan a card and it shows you the actual recent eBay sold listings behind the price, so you can verify it yourself. Added AI grading to pre-screen cards before paying PSA. Built it solo. Launching now because it's finally ready and I'd rather get real feedback than keep polishing.
